January 2011

Monday Blues and Weekend Photos.

If only Mondays were as good as Saturdays and Sundays. Particularly sunny Sundays.

This weekend we did a bit of shopping (20s dress for a fancy dress party ticked off), white tights wearing, some tidying and lots of baking! We’ve just had the bathroom and flooring done throughout our flat & it’s looking ace. It does however mean that we’ve been pretty much living out of bags, hotels and an incredibly messy bedroom for the last month or so. Life is about to get more normal though – hurrah.

I also bought some Liberty fabric for making blinds. Not something I’ve ever one before, so I’m a little scared! I’m super pleased with the pattern though – I’ll take a picture once I’m done! On another note, I just thought I’d express my love for Liberty. It’s one of my most favourite places ever, even if I can’t afford anything at all……

I definitely need to get better at this photo taking malarky – Tom takes most our pictures, and now I have no evidence of my cinnamon rolls. D’oh!

Ninety.

My Grandad was 90 on 4 January, he’s a pretty amazing man. He left school at 14 and worked for BP most of his life (with an obligatory stint in the army). One day, I’ll get round to writing up what he’s told me about his life. Tom has an uncanny knack of getting interesting information out of people…. (apparently my step-great grandad was the official photographer for Heinz!).

He had no idea my sisters and I were coming up to Yorkshire to see him, so it was fun surprising him. We met him at Bettys and had coffee and cake, and in the evening we had a party at my parents’ with my Uncle and Aunt.

It was lovely. Really really lovely.
