April 2011

Happy Easter.

Happy Easter everybody. I hope many Easter eggs have been eaten. It’s been a slightly odd day – we’ve eaten roast lamb, laid around in the park, been swimming and watched The Life of Brian. Nice though!

We went on a quick walk yesterday (nothing like the mammoth trek the other week!) – the heat was incredible! I’m assuming this basically is our Summer and June, July & August are going to be horrible…?!

Anyway, a few pictures below…….Oooh, I forgot – new Anthropologie sunglasses, I love! Actually on that note, I should probably give more outfit details shouldn’t I?!

The blue dress is Vero Moda (£15 from ASOS – bargain!), shoes are my beloved Christmas present from APC & the bag is from Cambridge Satchel Company. After many months of lusting after everyone else’s, I finally ordered one when Urban Outfitters had 20% off the other day….xx

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again.

I love London.

Hope you’re all enjoying the amazing weather and the long weekend! Fingers crossed there’ll be lots of posts in the next few days, I’m on holiday until a week on Tuesday!

Foxes and Polar Bears. And Bunting.

It was a weekend, so I baked. Standard, I know – I should probably get out more. I did however make foxes and polar bears (you’ll see a repeating theme over time). I also made bunting biscuits! We’re having a royal wedding picnic on the 29th, complete with Pimms and cucumber sandwiches. Maybe. Actually, I don’t think I’ve ever eaten cucumber sandwiches.

The icing bled a bit, and they weren’t particularly neat, but practice makes perfect and all that.

I pretty much didn’t leave the house on Saturday other than for a swim. I hadn’t been swimming for years until last week & I’ve now been four times, I love it! I should probably invest in swimming cap though (ooh the glamour), I do hate getting my hair wet.

Sunday involved a quick trip to the shops (no exciting purchases I’m afraid. Apart from an iron? No? Didn’t think so), but it did allow us to take a couple of photos and the weather was beautiful – fingers crossed it stays that way, I have next week off & I’m envisioning picnics and laying in the park. Hurrah!

Hasbeens.

I’ve never owned a pair of clogs. I wear uncomfortable shoes all the time because they’re beautiful (my disgusting feet will testify), but always thought that clogs were a step too far.

My view changed when I discovered Swedish Hasbeens last Summer, but I couldn’t bring myself to fork out for a pair.

But joy of joys, next week they’re coming to H&M. Yes! And I have my beady eye on that red pair.

Here’s hoping they don’t sell out before my lovely boyfriend manages to get me a pair in his lunchbreak on the 20th (he didn’t seem complete adverse to the trip when I mentioned it)!

Also, how awesome is their inspiration board?! Love it.

Leg o’ Mutton.

Wowee. Just got back from an insanely long walk down the Thames path. I have lived here (on and off) for four and half years, and never even knew it existed! It was beautiful. Only problem being that I was wearing flip flops. Turns out walking 12 miles in flip flops isn’t highly intelligent. I’m not entirely sure I’ll be able to move in the morning.

But the weather! Oh it was so lovely. It felt rather like we were on holiday, and you’d have no idea you were in London for parts of it. My particular favourite was the nature reserve called ‘Leg o’ Mutton’, I’m not quite sure why.

I’m afraid my trusty iPhone was the only camera on hand, so photos aren’t top notch. Hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend.

Emily’s Guide to (West) London.

I’m guest posting at Cait’s beautiful blog Wayward Daughter today as part of her ‘Best of British’ month.

GO GO GO!
