I spend a ridiculous proportion of my salary on clothes, and yet never seem to have anything to wear, particularly when it comes to dressing for work. I’m not sure why it’s so hard, but I really struggle to find and buy stuff. After being told I looked a bit of a state this morning (not by colleagues – at least not to my face…), I decided to have a bit of a Topshop splurge during my lunchbreak.

Thoughts? And where do you all buy clothes for work? Is it just me??! x
I’ve been home alone this weekend, stuck trying to learn the law and ethics syllabuses for my forthcoming exams. Not fun. I have almost finished a dress I’ve been working on for a while though – nearly there!
I have a few more random holiday photos to come, but before this becomes the ‘tree appreciation’ blog, I thought I’d have a quick flashback to my very lovely friends’, Kelly and Dan’s wedding a couple of weeks ago.

My jumpsuit was from Jaegar – half price in the mid-season sale, woo! I actually originally (slightly embarrassingly) saw it on the presenter of the Live episode of ‘Don’t Tell the Bride’ and had one of those ‘I have to own that’ moments. God bless the internet.

Anyway, the wedding was lovely and super fun. AND the tables were named after Cadburys chocolate bars, with corresponding favours. Congratulations (again!) guys!

And a few other things I’ve seen and loved this week:
- I love everything about this outift.
- I have a small obsession with Sandra’s blog at the moment
- I really really want to try these deep dish cookies – it is my birthday on Thursday…..
- Ooh, and I’m featured on Harriet’s ‘Lazy Sunday Links’!
Have a lovely evening everybody! xx
Wednesday was pretty horrible. Rain, rain and more rain – so we spent pretty much the entire day inside reading. And eating biscuits.
But then Thursday came and after driving about 10 miles west (via a c.50 mile trip round the lochs), we arrived at the fairytale land that is Puck’s Glen. It was like something out of a film. Truly truly truly beautiful. And I’m a sucker for trees.
*WARNING – PHOTO OVERLOAD*

I’m back! Along with about a gazillion photos that Tom has kindly taken and processed for me. Isn’t he good?!
I’ve started back at college this week to get underway the learning for my last exams ever ever ever (I know I’ve already said that many times over the past few years. But really. This is it.). So I’ll try and spread the photos out so I can re-live times when I didn’t have to study. Ha.
So we were staying at The Lodge on Loch Lomond, which well and truly lived up to its name. The view from our room was stunning and the bathroom came complete with a sauna. Never been a major sauna person – I am now totally converted.
Anyway, the train up to Glasgow was far from dreadful. The roads in Glasgow were another matter (not helped by the fact that I hadn’t driven at all for about 9 months…), but that’s a story for another day.
After we spent Monday evening arguing over what walk to do the next day, we eventually decided upon climbing The Cobbler. Only apparently we took a somewhat harder way up than would probably have been sensible. You live and learn. I’ll be sticking to the path next time. On the plus side – we made it! And there are lots of photos…… although we can safely say this isn’t an outfit post. Waterproofs, leggings and walking boots – Mmmmmm.
xx

p.s. The photos are all bigger on Flickr stream.
I had all good intention of blogging before disappearing on holiday but it all went horribly wrong! Never mind, I’m currently on the edge of Loch Lomond (pretty much literally – the view from our hotel window is epic) – spending the week walking, eating, sauna-ing and reading Game of Thrones.
Tom’s been snapping away, so I promise to show you many photos once we’re back home. Today we went to the mosts stunning bit of woodland – it was like a fairytale! There are also a few to share from a wedding we went to last weekend which was lots of fun.
In the meantime, I’ll leave you with an outfit picture from a couple of weeks ago (when apparently it was still Summer). I bought the dress in Sweden on holiday last year, the cardi is good old M&S, shoes and bag are APC, sunglasses from Ray-Ban – and that house behind me, is where I’d like to live in an ideal world.

And a couple of things I’ve seen that I love:
Wedding photos – totally in love with her hair!
Bird prints on the Orla Kiely A/W 2011 collection
Oatmeal Brownie Milky Way Bars – need I say more??
xx
Have you been to Richmond Park? If not, please go. It’s beautiful.
Despite living in West London for about 5 years (spread over almost 8…), we had never been until the weekend before last.

See that? Deer! In London! From the top of the hill, you could see the London Eye, The Shard and loads of the city. Until a tree got in the way and it was like being transported back to Yorkshire. Very odd but absolutely gorgeous.
Our initial plan was to get the tube – until we realised it wasn’t running. So about 4pm on a Bank Holiday Sunday, we set out to get the bus. Only 6 miles later, we still hadn’t got on one we were however, finally approaching the park gates. Ha. So we walked to go on a walk and my feet HURT.

But hey, I was rewarded with stunning views, deer (I know, I mentioned them already) and then at the end, we walked down Richmond Hill and I had wine, salmon and meringues (not altogether…). Bank Holidays don’t get much better than that.
