I Made A Jacket.

What a productive weekend. Tom’s 3D printer is now built and functional and I FINALLY finished the minoru jacket that’s been sat cut out on my floor for the past 6 months. As the weather is more or less the same as it was 6 months ago, it didn’t seem entirely crazy to spend this weekend actually sewing it together. In July.

It has inside pockets and everything! I’m really quite proud of myself. Although if I’m perfectly honest, Tasia’s fantastic sewalong instructions did most of the hard work for me. I spent the rest of the weekend cooking, sleeping, spending my money in Monki and watching Sharpe – that’s about as good as weekends come. Except next weekend when I’m going wedding dress shopping – eeeek!!!

Hope you’ve had a good one? xx

Birthday Picnic.

Another year has passed and I’m starting to get unnervingly close to 30. To celebrate, we had picnic in the gardens, complete with lots of Pimms and white wine. It was fun.

We actually started the day by heading to the Ballgown exhibition at the V&A, I was expecting to love it but somehow it fell a bit short. I’m not sure whether it was due to the slightly odd lighting, a somewhat ‘meh’ selection of gowns or that it was absolutely teeming with people, but it didn’t really live up to my expectations. We did however follow it up with a trip to the Animal Inside Out exhibition at the natural history museum. It was a bit gruesome but I can’t recommend it highly enough – it was fascinating and brilliantly presented!

Tom excelled himself this year and I have lots of beautiful new things which will make appearances over the next few weeks. I am particularly enamoured with my new APC shirt. I’ve had SUCH a lovely weekend – what have you all been up to?
