What a productive weekend. Tom’s 3D printer is now built and functional and I FINALLY finished the minoru jacket that’s been sat cut out on my floor for the past 6 months. As the weather is more or less the same as it was 6 months ago, it didn’t seem entirely crazy to spend this weekend actually sewing it together. In July.

It has inside pockets and everything! I’m really quite proud of myself. Although if I’m perfectly honest, Tasia’s fantastic sewalong instructions did most of the hard work for me. I spent the rest of the weekend cooking, sleeping, spending my money in Monki and watching Sharpe – that’s about as good as weekends come. Except next weekend when I’m going wedding dress shopping – eeeek!!!

Hope you’ve had a good one? xx

Sorry for almost disappearing off the face of the planet – in exactly one week’s time I will be back to my normal blogging, photo taking, going places & sewing self. Just 7 more days of burying my head in books and the highlight of my day being going to the gym.
But look! I did leave the house a couple of weeks ago, albeit wearing a somewhat Bavarian outfit and feeling a little like I was in the ‘Sound of Music’….

October 14, 2011 – 7:53 pm

I appear to have developed a bit of a knitwear obsession. I’ve gone for years without ever having enough jumpers and have somehow managed to buy about 5 in the last weeks. I love this one though – not that you can tell by my face. WHY DO I LOOK SO GRUMPY?? Topshop seem to have loads at the moment – I have so far resisted this polar bear one, but it might only be a matter of time…

How’s the week been? I’m back at work next week after a bit of a college onslaught – but 3 weeks time and it’ll all be over (she says…. fingers crossed), and I can stop moaning, which I think will be preferable for everybody.

And I leave you with some of my favourite internet-y things from the last couple of weeks:
Isla’s incredible skirt
An incredible 50′s photoshoot (complete with Ewan McGregor)
Apple Pie cookies. I love Autumn.
How cute are these collages?!
Some epic pin-ups!

September 27, 2011 – 7:00 pm
Following on from last week’s chocolate mousse recipe, I would have blogged the pretty awesome carrot cake I made on Sunday, except it’s Tuesday and it’s virtually all gone. Sorry – maybe next time?
Instead I bring you a see-through shirt! I’m rather pleased it doesn’t look quite as sheer in the photos as it did in real life…. somehow it’s scarier on a screen with lots of people actually looking. I’m super pleased with these green trousers though, I bought them a couple of weeks ago and pretty much haven’t taken them off since.

We went shopping in central London on Saturday too for the first time in ages. I finally got my hands on some of the Ornithology Liberty fabric. I can’t wait to get sewing again once my exams are over.

If I may: a small Ode to my shoes. APC I <3 you.
We went to see Slow Club last night. Truly awesome, particularly when they stood in front of the mics and sang Christmas TV to Shepherds Bush. Although we were a little disappointed there was no “Apples & Pears” (which I have been trawling Youtube for, but it wont let me post a video). Anyway – GO LISTEN, THEY’RE ACE. xx
August 6, 2011 – 10:00 pm
This post is mostly sponsored by the contents of the photo roll of my iphone.
So this week I have mostly been enjoying uploading photos to WIWT. It’s ace – I love the thought of keeping track of everything you wear everyday. It also think it makes you think about what you’re putting on each day. I always do when it comes to taking photos for this blog, but often during the week I’ll grab what’s closest. So here’s to making best use of the clothes I own, and trying not to wear the same outfits every Monday to Friday!

Other excellent things that have been occurring…..
The beautiful Cait has just released her first mini collection. I am so excited about my dress turning up!
We spent last night eating Tapas in Covent Garden. It was goooood.
After the success of last weekend’s Swedish summer cake, I have just ordered Scandilicious.
And LOOK – A RAINBOW!

And very finally…. SHOES WITH BOWS, and I am completely obsessed with this blue chair.
xx
I’m back! Turns out I am ethical and have (just) enough law knowledge to get through my first round of exams. Hurrah.
So after weeks of spending every evening learning about what you should do if you were to suspect a client of money laundering, I can finally get back to buying things, spending lots of time on the internet, sewing and cooking.

After leaving our flat at 7.30 yesterday morning to spend a couple of hours at the test centre (which was a slightly bizarre experience) – I was also desperate for coffee and apparently no coffee shops in London open until 9am on Saturday morning – we went to go and pick up our Fox and Polar Bear prints from Aubin and Wills. They are now residing on our spare bedroom/study wall, which I LOVE. We also managed to spend a fair amount of money on a throw with Moose on it and a wooden bear at SCP – eek!

I also finally picked up the feather print top and trousers in the Aubin and Wills sale that I’ve been coveting for the past couple of months. It’s so satisfying buying something you’ve had your eye on for a long time and even better when there’s money off! I love them and particularly that I can wear them separately too. Small issue in that the trousers aren’t overwhelmingly flexible, making curling up on the sofa slightly precarious…

Anyway, hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend. A few of my favourite things of the week below:
- Fascinating set of posts about working mothers
- Really want to try this cocktail out
- Love this top photo and the back of the dress
- An amazing table
- I’d love a kitchen overhaul, making it look like one of these
